Welcome
With great pleasure, the Tunisian Chemical Society extends a warm greeting to you for the 22nd Tunisia Chemistry Conference (TCC 2024), which will be held from 15 to 19 December 2024 at Laico Hotel in Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia. Organized every two years, this event provides young researchers and students with a dedicated space to connect, learn, and grow. TCC 2024 empowers participants, expands their skill set, and fosters a supportive community that drives scientific progress. Moreover, it offers valuable opportunities for young researchers to inspire new research and establish contacts.
During TCC 2024, esteemed guests will present new methods and up-to-date technologies, fostering interactions with highly ranked chemists. Participants, including teachers, researchers, and industry professionals, can share knowledge, build bridges with national and foreign laboratories, and stay informed about the latest developments in the vast field of chemistry.
So much awaited by the community of the chemists, as well Tunisian as foreigners, Tunisia Chemistry Conference distinguishes itself from the other events organized by the TCS because it closes by the election of the new National Bureau for the incoming two years.
For those who have never been to Tunisia, we guarantee that this trip will compel you to return and come back to Tunisia. It is a charming country with a rich history of 30 centuries, heritage of Capsian, Phoenician, Roman, Christian, Berber and Islamic civilizations. Hammamet ...
... in a few words

Located approximately 60 kilometers from the capital, Hammamet is a charming town nestled in the Nabeul Governorate of Tunisia. Its idyllic beaches make it a top-tier tourist destination within the country. Situated in the southeastern part of the Cap-Bon region, Hammamet boasts a rich history and vibrant culture.
The population of Hammamet fluctuates significantly, ranging from 100,000 to 400,000 inhabitants. During the summer months, this number quadruples due to the influx of tourists seeking sun, sea, and relaxation. Hammamet is particularly famous for its fragrant jasmine. The town’s association with this delicate flower extends to the nearby tourist resort of Yasmine Hammamet.
In antiquity, Hammamet was known as Pupput. During the 1st century, it thrived as a settlement and later became a Roman colony in the 2nd century. The town’s medieval heritage is evident in its 13th-century walls and the 15th-century medina (old town). Hammamet has witnessed the influence of Spanish and Turkish rule over the centuries. Notably, in 1601, the town successfully repelled a Spanish attack. However, in 1605, another Spanish assault had disastrous consequences for the invaders. During World War II, Hammamet served as a strategic headquarters for the German army forces.
Yasmine Hammamet, a modern seaside resort, emerged in the late 1990s. Inspired by the successful model of Port El-Kantaoui, it graces the Gulf of Hammamet. The resort features a meticulously recreated Arab medina called “Medina Mediterranea.” Within its walls, visitors can explore souks, traditional housing, and even enjoy the Carthage Land theme park and conference center.
In summary, Hammamet seamlessly blends history, natural beauty, and modern amenities, making it a must-visit destination for travelers exploring Tunisia.
